Celebrating 20 Years in Business
Adept Power Solutions (APS) is turning 20! Founded in 2003 by Iain and Julia Mackay, and since then the company has grown from a small start-up to a leading provider of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) & Generator Solutions.
The Beginnings
Our founders identified a need for a more comprehensive customer-led service in the backup power market. They started the company in Andover, Hampshire, with a small team of engineers and technicians, and quickly began developing innovative solutions that fulfilled the needs of their clients and partners.
APS has since expanded its product offerings and customer base. The company now covers the whole of the mainland UK and has also completed work across various parts of Europe. Now serving thousands of customers in a variety of industries, from large data centres to retail and the medical sectors.
APS is committed to providing its customers with the best possible backup power solutions and services from beginning to end. From a free site survey through to maintenance, Adept Power Solutions is a one-stop-shop for all your backup power needs.

Adept Power Solutions Milestones
Over the years, APS has achieved many significant milestones that have contributed to its growth and success. Some of these key moments include:
2005 - Adept Power Solutions launched its first in-house product, providing a wide range of external Wall Mounted Maintenance Bypass Switches.
2006 – Adept Power Solutions became an authorised partner for Riello UPS.
2008 - APS demonstrated its environmental credentials and received its first Certificate of Approval for ISO14001.
2009 - APS launched its innovative range of Rack Mounted Maintenance Bypass Switches.
2011 - APS started its highly successful electrical engineering Apprenticeship programme.
2013 - APS became the partner for Intellibat (Canara) to provide battery cell monitoring to UK Data Centres.
2014 - APS became an authorised Select Partner for APC, one of the world's largest manufacturers of UPS.
2015 - The company launched an innovative and market-leading monitoring service, ARM (Adept Remote Monitoring) for UPS & Generators.
2016 - APS became an authorised Service partner for Riello UPS.
2018 - The company committed to its Andover location by signing a new long-term lease at its 9,000sq ft Head Office.
2022 - APS became an authorised Eaton UPS Partner, cementing its position as a leading provider of backup power solutions.
2023 - And now, in 2023, the company is celebrating its 20th Anniversary!
